Spiritual Nourishment & the Retreat Ministry at Mater Dolorosa

Since the initial closure of Mater Dolorosa at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, our Passionist community and staff worked quickly to provide alternatives for individuals in need of spiritual nourishment who were no longer able to visit Mater Dolorosa for weekly programs, attend their annual weekend retreat, or even visit their local parish for Mass. 

We began livestreaming Mass from our Chapel, shifted to a Zoom-based weekly Centering Prayer group to replace Sunday meetings on our grounds, and introduced virtual Eucharistic Adoration using Facebook LIVE on Friday evenings. 

These online ministries continue today, even as we slowly re-open our doors to visitors and continue to explore a new format for our retreats that will accommodate those unable to visit us in-person and COVID-19 restrictions.
