Passion Play

"The Crimson Cloak"

An Original Pageant, open and free to the public

DUE TO FORECASTED RAIN, BOTH PERFORMANCES WILL BE HELD AT
at St. Rita Catholic Parish, Palm Sunday, March 24, 3:30pm & Good Friday, March 29, 7:00pm
MD Station 12 - Jesus is Raised upon the Cross and Dies

Forty-three cast members and community volunteers from St. Rita Catholic Parish and Mater Dolorosa Passionist Retreat Center will perform an original production of music, interpretive dance, tableau and meditative reflections. The theatric, music and dance-filled event portrays the passion of Christ through the eyes of Mary Magdalene. Exquisite dance, colorful costumes and beautiful music enhance every scene while meditative and powerfully expressive reflections contribute to this Lenten event. Soloist Erica Jones Deato, (Mary Magdalene) and Sean Murtha, (Jesus) will be featured as well as a brilliant cast composed of church, retreat and community members. Written, produced and directed by long time St. Rita parishioner and Sierra Madre resident, Mimi Mycroft. The Crimson Cloak will be performed twice:

  • Palm Sunday, March 24, 3:30 pm at Mater Dolorosa outdoor amphitheater, 700 N. Sunnyside Ave, Sierra Madre St. Rita Catholic Parish
  • Good Friday, March 29, 7:00 pm St. Rita Catholic Parish, 318 N. Baldwin Ave, Sierra Madre
