Retreat Registration for Passionist Weekend Retreats
Who can register for a retreat?
Mater Dolorosa has a policy of All Are Welcome so any individual can register for a retreat by the various methods available. These include:
- Online registration via the website
- Via phone to the Weekend Retreat Co-ordinator
- Via email to the Weekend Retreat Co-ordinator
- Through a Captain or co-captain from a parish or external partner group
Does my reservation guarantee me a room for the retreat?
Reservations with a retreatant name and a non-refundable deposit are guaranteed up to 30 days before a retreat. Reservations made later than this date are subject to availability of rooms.
The Weekend Retreat co-ordinator will communicate this status and will place you on a waiting list if we are FULL for the weekend.
When will I be assigned a room?
You will be assigned a room as you check in on a Friday afternoon. Rooms are allocated on a first-come/first-served basis. Rooms are also reserved for those with mobility needs or for late check-in to ensure you are guaranteed a room. If you have a confirmed reservation a room will be held for you.
Can I have a late check in with a guaranteed room?
Please notify us if you are going to be a late check-in. Late check-ins are defined as 6:00pm or later on Friday eveing. Rooms are also reserved for those with a late check-in to ensure you are guaranteed a room. If you have a confirmed reservation your room will be held for you. The room will be assigned when you check-in.
Can I always have a private room?
Most of our rooms are singles with an en-suite bathroom and shower. Because of the demand on our Passionist Weekend Retreats, a certain number of retreatants may be asked to share one of our double rooms.
What time is check in?
Check-in is at any time after 3:00pm on Friday afternoon. Rooms are not available for occupancy before this time.
You are welcome to visit the chapel and the grounds at Mater Dolorosa if you happen to arrive earlier than 3:00pm, but due to housekeeping requirements, we are not able to provide check-in before this time.
Can I reserve a block of rooms and have a pre-check process for large groups from a single parish?
Groups with a minimum of 50 retreatants can reserve a set of guaranteed rooms with pre-payment. Contact our Weekend Retreat Co-ordinator for details.
Rooms for retreatants with mobility needs
Mater Dolorosa has rooms located near the elevator and wheelchair accessible. We reserve the use of these rooms for those guests with mobility issues and would request your understanding in keeping these available to make the stay as comfortable as possible for those retreatants.
Donation Policy – Everyone is welcome
Retreats at Mater Dolorosa provide the space and time to find or rediscover our own sacred calling through the message of Christ. Once our priorities emerge or become clear again, our energy is freed up for all the other aspects of our lives. We re-enter the world refreshed and reinvigorated.
We have a suggested donation for the weekend retreat of $295 which goes towards offsetting the cost of the retreat. However, the Passionist community welcomes everyone to our weekend retreats, regardless of financial circumstances and retreatants are encouraged to make whatever donation is affordable. If you cannot make a donation at this time, you are still welcome to come to the retreat. We look forward to seeing you here soon.
