In light of the growing surge of the virus and in an effort to keep our guests, religious community and staff as safe as possible, we will now be requiring proof of vaccination or proof of a negative Covid-19 test taken 72 hours prior to arrival for a retreat, meeting or any event held indoors. Please note that this policy also applies to our 18th Annual Harvest on the Hill fundraiser on October 23rd.
Mater Dolorosa Passionist Retreat Center continues to closely monitor the situation with the pandemic and checks regularly for any changes being made by Los Angeles County, the State of California and the CDC with regards to new restrictions or best practices for businesses to follow during this unprecedented time. The information from the CDC continues to show that the Delta variant is much more contagious then previous versions of the virus and there are more & more cases of people getting Covid-19 who have been vaccinated. Mater Dolorosa is located in Los Angeles County and has been identified by the CDC as being in an area of high risk (https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view) .
Mater Dolorosa is a Passionist Retreat Center, dedicated to preaching the Passion of Jesus Christ. We welcome all who wish to hear the message of the Passion through our traditions of preaching, hospitality, and compassion. We place our focus on the Passion of Jesus Christ and its relevance in the lives of people today. We foster and promote spiritual growth and renewal through Passionist retreat programs and by providing a peaceful environment for personal prayer and reflection.
All are welcome to this sacred space at the foothills of the San Gabriel mountains; I invite you to explore our retreat options.
