“When you feel yourself on the cross, stripped of everything, gently stir up your faith in God’s presence, and abandon yourself in the immense sea of his love.” St. Paul of the Cross
Greetings from all of us at Mater Dolorosa. As you continue to reflect during this Holy Season of Lent, we pray that God will fill you with his love and compassion.
The season of Lent is a time of prayer, fasting and giving. We spend time communicating with God through prayer, we fast to get a deeper appreciation of Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross, and we give of ourselves to those in need.
During these remarkable six weeks of remembering, we also do our best to open our daily lives to the experience of God living within us. We pray a bit more, try to be more aware of and responsive to the needs of those around us, and participate more often in the Eucharist. These six weeks can be an enriching time of recalling all God has done for us and for sharpening our awareness of God’s continued blessings in our lives.
In an effort to help all of us who are part of the Mater Dolorosa Family to enter more fully into our Lenten experience, we invite you to unite your prayers with ours in praying with and for one another. Together we can become a single strong voice praying for mercy for us and for those in our lives who are in particular need of God’s mercy.
May you have a most blessed Lenten Season, may God fill your life with His abundant goodness and may the Passion of Jesus Christ be always in our hearts.
Sincerely in Christ,
